Resilience, Passion & Strength
King's Journey
King Singh was born and raised in Queens, NY. At the age of two, he was diagnosed with a rare and deadly combination of (high risk) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (blood cancer) and G6PD. G6PD is blood disease that is lifelong and incurable.

Due to the aggressive nature of his blood cancer, King underwent intense daily chemotherapy treatment for 3 ½ years.

He took chemotherapy in three forms, pills, IV through his port and in his spine. He had countless spinal taps as well as blood and platelet transfusions.

The petrifying part of the chemotherapy treatment is that it causes countless
side effects but the most frightening is that it can cause a secondary cancer.

Today King is eight years young and has chronic side effects such as neuropathy (nerve damage) and leukoencephalopathy (brain swelling)from the toxicity of the chemotherapy treatment.

King is truly our HERO and inspires us daily. He is an asset to his community. He volunteers, models in fashion shows and participates in walks to advocate, raise money
and spread awareness about childhood cancer and rare diseases. King is an ambassador for many organizations and willingly shares his journey to raise money for cancer research.

He hosts toy drives year round so he can deliver toys to children like him diagnosed with life threatening illnesses to make them smile.
He spent so many weeks in isolation during treatment and he knows exactly how it feels and how much one toy can brighten up a child’s day.

Regardless of all that King has overcame and continues to experience with the
long term side effects of treatment, he is resilient, remains positive and spreads awareness about cancer
and life threatening illnesses.
